<p>The energy production and/or storage installation comprises turbines (21) which are driven in rotation by water flow and drive an electric generator, with the installation underground at a depth of at least 150 metres. A water collector is situated at ground level, and water is carried downwards from the collector to the turbines through a descending conduit. The water flow then returns to the surface through an ascending conduit, using pumps placed by the ascending conduit. The water for the turbines is derived from the descending conduit, and the spent water returned to the surface via the ascending conduit. A second turbo-alternator unit is used to generate service supplies.</p> |
