<p>Appts. comprises a horizontal conveyor band which carries a ball of dough beneath a forming plate. The forming plate converges towards the band surface in the direction of band movement, thus squeezing and rolling each dough ball into an elongated cylinder. A set of blades, which are longitudinal w.r.t. the conveyor and equally spaced across the width of the conveyor, are fixed to project below the underside of the forming plate. Each blade has a lower edge of which an upstream section has a flat edge which slopes towards the band more sharply than the forming plate. The upstream edge is followed by a downstream cutting edge which is parallel or converges only slightly to the band. Machine is for cutting to length and forming pieces of dough partic. for the mfr. of bread rolls. The combined cutting and forming action of the machine automatically produces dough rolls with fully-finished ends requiring no further manual attention.</p> |
