The aim of this method is to improve the maintenance of glued insulating joints. It comprises the following stages: a) a groove (6) is made through the rail in the insulating material (10), b) a part (7) made of insulating material is inserted into the groove (6), c) the insulating part (7) is glued and, in order to increase its fastening, an insulating pin (8) is inserted into a hole (9) pierced in the insulating part, d) the part (7) is shaped by hand according to the profile of the rail (1). The machine tool for the implementation is used to produce the groove. <IMAGE>
