Storage device for a yarn guided to the shed of a weaving machine

In weaving machines which possess a fixedly mounted weft bobbin, the yarn is to be stored during its feed to the shed. The device used for this has an electric motor (1), to the rotor (3) of which a yarn guide (2) is fastened, a yarn-storage drum (4) and a yarn leader (5) which lays the yarns on to the drum. The part of the yarn guide (2) accommodated in the electric motor (1) consists of two coaxially arranged sleeves (6 and 7) connected rigidly to one another, whilst the stator of the electric motor (1) consists of two coaxial parts (9 and 10) forming an annular gap between them. The inner part (10) of the stator is accommodated in a gap (14) between the sleeves (6 and 7). The outer sleeve (6) of the yarn guide (2) is located in the gap between the stator parts (9, 10). The storage device thus constructed has a reduced inertia of the yarn guide (2), with the result that any possible winding of superfluous turns onto the yarn-storage drum (4) is avoided. <IMAGE>
