The invention relates to a worm press according to the modular concept having a gearing, a wormshaft, a collecting cone and a housing with openings in its walls. The housing and the wormshaft can be composed of individual elements, the wormshaft elements being guided in each case in the housing elements and being detachably connected to one another. In order to be able to adapt the openings in the housings to the material to be pressed in each case and to its consistency, the housings are provided with openings whose opening sizes are variable via a unit which is rotatable relative to the openings. <IMAGE>
