PURPOSE:To improve the joining strength of melt sprayed films, by joining a foamed metal onto the surface of a metal, and melt spraying metals or non- metals on the surface of the foamed metal. CONSTITUTION:A foamed metal 3 having three-dimensional irregular network structure is joined to a metallic material 1 which is a substrate by means of a brazing material 2 prior to melt spraying. Methods such as resistance welding, diffusion welding or the like are possible in addition to brazing to join the material 1 and the metal 3. Metals or non-metals are melt-sprayed onto the metal 3 with a melt spraying torch 4 by a conventional method, whereby a melt-sprayed film is formed. This melt spraying method is particularly effective in the case of forming the melt sprayed film of non-metals such as ceramics. |
