The front power lift serves for the attachment of implements to the front side of a tractor, the power take-off shaft being intended for driving the implements. The particular feature of the front power lift consists in the arrangement of the lifting cylinders (7), characterised in that they are accommodated in a virtually vertical position within the engine cowling and are connected by a crossmember (8). This crossmember (8) is connected via tensile members (9) to the bottom links (2) of the three-point hitch. The special feature of the power take-off shaft is characterised in that a planetary gear unit (26) is used which is likewise accommodated within the engine cowling and is driven directly by the engine crankshaft (16). The planetary gear unit (26) on the one hand ensures the correct conversion of the engine speed and on the other hand effects the necessary reversal in the direction of rotation. The planetary gear unit (26) is in addition connected to a starting clutch (20). <IMAGE>
