PURPOSE:To allow the titled equipment to easily cope with the type change or operation change by providing circuit external connection terminals subjected to super large scale integrated circuit and connecting an external storage device to the terminals as required. CONSTITUTION:A main control circuit 600 is integrated with a PTO 69, a PIO 73, a CPU 74, a DMA controller 75, an interruption controller 76, a timer 77, and a mask ROM 78 each of which is a conventional LSI. The mask ROM 78 stores a table data required for the operation program and each operation of a facsimile equipment being an object to be controlled. Further, the main control circuit 600 has an external connection terminal 601 and is connected with a ROM 602 as an external storage device. Then the CPU 74, based on the type change request or operation change request, etc., of the facsimile equipment, switches the mask ROM 78 into the ROM 602 and executes its operation based on the operation control program or various data stored in the ROM 602.
