发明名称 PRODUCTION OF SPHEROIDAL GRAPHITE CAST IRON
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce spheroidal graphite cast iron having high quality stably at a low cost by melting Mg (alloy) to generate Mg vapor, and blowing the Mg vapor into the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:Pure Mg or an Mg alloy 8 contg. Mg at a relatively high rate is melted at a suitable temp. by a heating element 7 in a refractory vessel 6 installed in a hermetic vessel 5 to evaporate the Mg. The Mg vapor is diluted and mixed with an inert gas such as gaseous Ar or N2 from a bomb 11, and the gaseous mixture is blown into molten cast iron 2 through a porous refractory material 4 installed in the bottom of a ladle 1. The Mg migrates into the metal 2 in the stage in which the foam mixture 3 of the Mg and the inert gas ascends in the metal 2. When the Mg is contained at a specified concn. or above, the molten cast iron 2 crystallizes spheroidal graphite in the stage of solidification.
