The invention relates to a method of producing a bright-finished bevel and a milling cutter (1) for carrying out the method. A bright-finished bevel is produced by metal-removing milling without subsequent polishing of the surface being necessary. A specially formed milling cutter (1) is used here. The milling machine must run particularly smoothly and have a high cutting speed. <IMAGE>
