The invention relates to a plug socket having a flush-mounted box for embedded installation, having an intermediate support which can be inserted into the flush-mounted box, and having a contact support which is arranged in the intermediate support. The flush-mounted box has attachment screws, which are diametrically opposite at a predetermined attachment interval, for the intermediate support which, for its part, has a mounting flange with mutually diametrically opposite holes for the attachment screws. The holes are constructed as windows, forming a radial movement play for the attachment screws which are arranged at different attachment intervals. At least four windows are provided in a 90 DEG distribution. An attachment frame having at least four elongated holes, which are arranged extending in the circumferential direction and in a 90 DEG distribution, for the attachment screws is attached in a removable manner on the mounting flange. The mutually opposite elongated holes have attachment intervals which differ in pairs. In consequence, the intermediate support with the contact support aligned in accordance with the instructions opposite its groove for preventing incorrect insertion can always be fixed in the flush-mounted box correctly with a different attachment interval. <IMAGE>
