PURPOSE:To provide highly reliable air tightness and replace defective cells in easy operation by constructing a unit cell block with a stacked body of unit cells and bipolar plates, and forming a cell stack by stacking unit cell blocks. CONSTITUTION:A cell block 3 is constructed in such a way that specified number of unit cells 1 and bipolar plates 2 are mutually stacked and they are mechanically united in one body with adhesive and others. Fuel gas supply paths 4 and 5, which are passing through in vertical direction and connecting to fuel passing grooves 22 in bipolar plates 2, are formed in right and left ends of the cell block 3. Air is supplied to air passing grooves 21, which are passing in horizontal direction of the cell block 3, in each bipolar plate 2. A plurality of cell blocks 3 are stacked to construct a cell stack and the connection of the gas supply paths 4 and 5 is sealed with O-rings 8. |
