The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for switching systems controlled on party line systems, in particular for telephone dispatcher systems, which contains a programmed control unit and also an address and data bus system between the control unit and the different functional and peripheral units. A line set is provided to ensure the signal flow between the line and the peripheral units, and furthermore a sensing unit indicating the condition of the peripheral units, a programmable selector unit, an audio-frequency signal receiver, a programmable signal transmitting unit and a tone caller and ringing unit are provided. The activation and deactivation of the secondary stations associated with the party line are performed in the control unit connected downstream of the party line. The control unit processes the information received from the functional and peripheral units according to the used, stored and/or hard-wired program, and performs the control functions relating to the operational requirements imposed on the system. In this way, the functional and peripheral units can be simplified, and there is no need for the direct link between the units, which in any case prevents the possible system variations and would require complicated wiring.
