The invention relates to a self-watering device, preferably equipped with a drinking bowl, for removing liquid from pressure lines, in particular for pigs and cattle, in which the actuating lever actuated by the animals and the inflow from the pressure line are uncoupled in such a manner that the animals only receive liquid on a movement of the lever, to which end there are situated in a housing a float-actuated inflow valve and at least one displacement body connected to the actuating lever, it being brought about by special design and matching of the structural elements that the animals receive less liquid on playing with the actuating lever than on deliberate individual actuation.
