The object of the invention is to enable a safety nut to assume the function of the destroyed spindle nut.

This enables the lifting or lowering operation started on a passenger car to be completed with the existing jack.
The safety nut is mainly intended to prevent a passenger car from falling down as a result of a failed spindle nut. The construction of the safety nut permits combination with the most varied styles of spindle nut.
