The invention relates to a ring-sealed pipe plug connection which is especially suitable for a pipe collar and a tip end. Large manufacturing tolerances occur particularly in the case of pipes of large diameter which are produced from mineral materials. Despite these manufacturing tolerances, the pipes, for example a pipe collar and a tip end, must be able to be reliably sealed. To this end, it is also necessary for the actual sealing insert to be mounted securely in the pipe collar. To this end, a pipe plug connection has a retaining ring, which is integrally formed on the sealing insert, with a contact device which is provided radially outwards thereon against the inner wall of the pipe collar. Furthermore, an approximately axially running wall element is provided on the retaining ring at a radial distance from the inner wall of the pipe collar. In addition to the wall element, the sealing insert has at least one sealing ring which provides a seal against the pushed-in tip end. Once the sealing insert has been inserted into the pipe collar, a sealing chamber which is formed between its inner wall to the retaining ring and to the wall element is filled with a hard sealing compound. The sleeve collar is in this case designed such that the sealing insert is inserted into an expanded collar fold until the retaining ring rests against the bottom of the fold. In order to compensate for manufacturing tolerances, the maximum external diameter of the retaining ring is dimensioned such that it is less than the minimum internal diameter of the axially extending fold limb. The compensation for tolerances is primarily achieved by centring elements which are integrally formed radially outwards on the retaining ring.
