A reversing drive with a setting mechanism for switching over drive parts operating running-direction-dependently has a carrier of an idler, coupled to a driven capstan, for a drive hub and of a stop which, upon swivelling of the carrier, which can swivel coaxially with respect to the said driven capstan, makes contact with a counter stop of a control element coupled to an operating element for actuating the drive switching-over of the coupled control element. For the switching-over operation, the operating and control elements, comprising slides or levers according to the particular configuration, are coupled to a capstan drive. <IMAGE>
