PURPOSE:To prevent adverse effect when a cathode can is shrink-fitted to an anode can, and increase capacity and leakage resistance by placing a low heat conductive metal plate between a cathode can and a cathode active mass. CONSTITUTION:A figure 12 shows a low heat conductive metal plate comprising stailess steel or nichrome, which is placed between an upper surface 8a of a cathode can 8 and a cathode active mass. When the cathode can 8 is shrink- fitted to a negative canl, internal shortage must be prevented. If the low heat conductive metal plate 12 is not placed in between, the cathode can 8 is directly in contact with the cathode active mass. When the low heat conductive metal plate is placed in between, since heat from the cathode can 8 during shrink fit is transmitted to the low heat conductive metal plate 12, then transmitted to the cathode active mass, the cathode can is fitted before the heat is transmitted to the cathode active mass. By immediately cooling the cathode can 8, it is shrink- fitted without giving adverse effect to the cathode active mass. |
