The apparatus for working a pipe, in particular an automatically controlled pipe flame-cutting machine, has a torch arm which is designed for the welding bevel oscillation. Arranged at the free end of this arm is a cutting torch which can be displaced longitudinally along its axis, can be rotated about a pivot axis running transversely to the pipe, in particular in a radial plane of the pipe, and can be tilted about a tilting axis arranged at right angles to the pivot axis. Here, the tilting axis is arranged on the displaceable part, in particular a slide, of a longitudinal guide which according to the invention has a curved path.
