TEMPERATURE CONTROL METHOD OF FUEL CELL

PURPOSE:To maintain at a proper temperature automatically and to require no special control equipment or auxiliary equipment by providing a control valve in the middle of a recirculation passage and by controlling this control valve based on the outlet temperature of the air chamber of a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger is removed and a control valve 11 is inserted in its place in the middle of a recirculation passage. This control value 11 is controlled by a control unit 13 generating a control output based on the output of a temperature detector 12 detecting the outlet temperature of the air chamber 6 of a fuel cell 1. The control unit 13 controls the mixing ratio of the fresh air and recirculated air so that the outlet temperature of the air chamber 6 is kept at an optimum temperature as the whole system. In this case, since the inlet temperature of the air chamber is also required to be kept in a predetermined temperature range for a proper operation of the fuel cell, it is desirous to detect the inlet temperature as required and to control the control valve 11 so that both the inlet temperature and outlet temperature are kept in a desired temperature range.
