Centrifuge has a bowl with a perforated outer wall and rotates around vertical axis. After filtration the raw material is fed to the centrifuge for separation of the constituents. The perforated bowl is surrounded by an annular trough which also rotates around the axis. It receives centrifuged sugar that flows over the edge of the bowl. Syrup is added into the space between walls. The outer wall of the rotating trough is also perforated. Centrifuged sugar passes over its top edge into the collection vessel. Water is added at. The perforated outer wall is covered with a filter cloth. It separates syrup from sugar, the former passing through the cloth and being collected.
