PURPOSE:To join Al and a ferrous metal securely through infiltration of the Al in a foamed part, by forming a foamed sintered metal layer on the surface of the ferrous metal material and casting the Al metal therein. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of alloy powder and a foamable synthetic resin is coated on the surface of a ferrous metallic material, whereafter the material is heated and held at 150-200 deg.C for >=30min. A solvent for the foamable synthetic resin is evaporated and the foamable synthetic resin is foamed partly. Thereafter, the material is put into a sintering furnace where the alloy powder is foamed and sintered and fine foamed cells are formed uniformly. Then, the aluminum metal infilters thoroughly into the foamed cells, thereby joining the material securely. |
