PURPOSE:To suppress the sparks generating on the brush of the titled DC machine by a method wherein a voltage absorbing element, which will be conductive by the AC voltage generating on the field winding, is connected to each field pole in parallel with each field winding wound around each field pole. CONSTITUTION:When the commutating action of the machine is deteriorated and the sparks on the brush are increased, a large short-circuit current is going to be flowed on the armature windings 4A and 4B which are being rectified. However, as the voltage induced on a field winding 2A (-2D) becomes larger when the reaction magnetic flux 7 generating by said short-circuit current fluctuates, a circulating current runs on the field winding 2A (-2D) through the intermediary of a voltage absorbing element 8A (-8D). The energy of the short- circuit current flowing to the armature windings 4A and 4B under commutation is absorbed by the above-mentioned circulating current, thereby enabling to suppress the generation of a high voltage on the field winding 2A (-2D) and the sparks on the brush as well. |
