PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric impact printer head which is hard to break down, by giving the head a structure wherein a large pulling force is not applied to a piezoelectric body, and by providing a spring applying a compressing force to the piezoelectric body. CONSTITUTION:One end of a longitudinal-effect piezoelectric body (containing an electrostrictive material) 10 is connected to a fixture member 13 through the intermediary of a connecting member 11, and the other end thereof is connected to one end of a first arm 14 through the intermediary of a connecting member 12. When the piezoelectric body 10 is made to extend upward by the impression of a voltage, the arm 14 is displaced in the direction of an arrow around a connecting member 15 as a fulcrum. Thereby a second arm 18 connected to the first arm 14 through the intermediary of a connecting member 16 is also subjected to the displacement enlarged on the principle of levers, and thereby an impact member 19 provided at the end of the second arm 18 is made to strike against a platen. Moreover, a spring 20 actuating the piezoelectric body 10 in the direction of compression is provided between the connecting member 12 and the fixture member 13 so as to prevent a pulling force from being applied to the piezoelectric body 10 by inertia when both arms 4 and 18 and the impact member 19 are displaced. |
