PURPOSE:To provide the titled component for automobile which is excellent in a sealing property and a glass-holding property, by a method wherein, after synthetic resin is molded into a window glass retainer, having a U-shape in cross section, by an injection molding, the work is inserted into a mold to inject non- rigid synthetic resin, and a hook-shaped seal lip is mounted to the retainer. CONSTITUTION:Rigid synthetic resin or rubber is molded in a molding process 4 by an injection molding or a mold forming to form a retainer 2A for a window glass having a U-shape in cross section. After the two retainers 2A are inserted into a mold 5, a non-rigid synthetic resin material or rubber material is injected into the mold 5 to monolithically join together a hook-shaped seal lip 3A and the retainer 2A, wherethen the mold is opened to simply and rapidly obtain a required weatherstrip serving as a center seal positioned between two window glasses. |
