PURPOSE:To obtain the titled printer which has a simple structure formed of the reduced number of parts and wherein type selection, printing and carrying are performed by switching gears driven by one driving source without using a clutch, by providing a switching device wherein the trigger of one electromagnet is employed. CONSTITUTION:A planet gear 14 to be switched is made to engage with an input gear 15 of a type selecting system to rotate a type wheel 25, and thereby a desired printing type is selected. Just before the desired type is opposed to paper, an electromagnet 6 is electrified to attract an armature 7. Thereby a driving plate 2 is rotated counterclockwise to engage the pawl of a lock lever 12 with a pawl wheel 20 and thereby to stop the type wheel 25. Next, the gear 14 engages with a gear 16, and a cam 42 rotates to push up the end of a printing pressure lever 38 by the projection thereof. Thereby the desired type in the type wheel 25 is pressed on the surface of paper. A shaft 41 rotates further to engage the teeth of a partial gear 44 with those of a partial gear 45 to rotate the latter at a prescribed angle. This rotation is transmitted to a shift screw 31, and a carriage 32 is shifted by one pitch by the engagement of the pin 33 of the carriage with the thread groove of the screw 31. |
