The present invention relates to herbicidal compositions and a herbicidal method which include or use a compound of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each selected independently from H, lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, ammonium, mono-, di- and tri- lower alkyl-ammonium, arylammonium, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal cations; and for each @ CR<4>R<5> group, R<4> is selected independently from H, lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, halogen, mono-, and di- lower alkylamino, amino, lower alkoxy, and hydroxy, and R<5> is H, or R<5> is selected independently from H, lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl and halogen, when R<4> is lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl or halogen; and a, b, c, and d are each selected independently from 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, provided that: 1</= a + d(b + c) </= 7. |
