PURPOSE:An optically anisotropic dope containing a phosphorus-containing compound as a solvent component is subjected to wet forming to give the titled fiber or film with high mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION:Sulfuric acid of higher than 90wt% concentration, phosphorus pentoxide in an amount of 0.1-0.6 mole per mole of the water included in the sulfuric acid and a polyamide cited below are used to prepare an optically anisotropic dope and the dope is subjected to wet forming into fiber or film. The polyamide is composed of reccurring units selected from the groups consisting of formulasI, II and III (the units represented by formulaIand formula II exists in equinolar amounts, when they present in the polymer; R, R' and R'' are divalent radical; n is 0, 1; more than 95mol% of R, R' and R'' are one hard group bearing a extending chain bond or 2 or more hard groups bonding one another through extending chain bonds directly or containing azo or azoxy groups as bridges). |
