PURPOSE:To elevate magnetic recording density in a helical scanning system, by using a vertical magnetization recording tape, and a recording and reproducing head for vertical magnetization recording. CONSTITUTION:Tape draw-out posts 14, 15 draw out a magnetic tape 13 from a cassette, and wind it around a fixed cylinder 12. In this case, an auxiliary magnetic pole 16 is wound around a supporting pole 17 so that it does not become an obstacle for loading of a magnetic tape 13, supporting poles 17, 18 and 19 are lowered, and the auxiliary magnetic pole 16 is positioned lower than a loading height position of the magnetic tape 13. In case of a recording mode, the supporting poles 17, 18 and 19 are floated, the supporting pole 17 is rotated, the supporting pole 19 is moved in the direction (a2), the auxiliary magnetic pole 16 is generated from the main magnetic pole part, and absorbable positioning is executed through the magnetic tape 13. As for the magnetic tape 13, that which is used for vertical magnetization recording is used. |
