PURPOSE:To raise the recording and reproducing efficiency even when a track is narrowed, by constituting a titled magnetic head so that the width of the rear end part of a main magnetic thin film corresponding to the track is made wider than the width of the track together with a reinforcing member. CONSTITUTION:A titled magnetic head is constituted so that against the width (W) of the tip of a main magnetic thin film 5 having high magnetic permeability, the width (W') of the rear part is set sufficiently wider than the track width, also in reinforcing members 6, 6' for placing the main magnetic thin film 5 between, too, the width of the rear end part consisting of high permeability magnetic materials 9, 9' is set to the width (W') which is sufficiently wider than the track width, in the same way as the main magnetic thin film 5, also a part of its upper face is formed in the projecting shape which is reduced thinly, and together with nonmagnetic materials 8, 8', width of said tip part becomes width (W) corresponding to the track width. In this way, even when the track is narrowed, it is possible to obtain a vertical type magnetic head which is small in magnetic resistance and good in recording and reproducing efficiency. |
