PURPOSE:To obtain the titled mechanism being operable by a small driving power and enabling the miniaturization of a type wheel or the increase in the sorts of printing types, by making a platen immovable, making the course of advance of paper invariable, and disconnecting the linking of a type wheel pressing mechanism to the type wheel even when the mechanism is operated. CONSTITUTION:A gear 76 is rotated counterclockwise by a cam 51 through the intermediary of a lever 53, and thereby a shaft 78 is rotated for feeding paper. A shaft 73 is rotated clockwise by a pin 58 through the intermediary of a lever 74 to engage a pin 33 with the groove of a screw 21 and thereby to return a type wheel 25 to its home position. There a plate 65 moves to the right, a stopper is disconnected from an engagement piece 56, and the concave part 61a of a cam 61 is not opposed to an engagement piece 55 by the selection of characters other than specified characters. At the home position as well, a printing operation is not performed because of the presence of a concave part 37b in a bar 37. Paper feeding is not performed since the lever 53 can not shake, and only shifting is performed. Thus, a carriage 32 is shifted to the highest-rank column. |
