PURPOSE:To ensure quick actuation of the engine brake in a retard mode, by turning on and off a retard switch to release and retard the overdrive, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A signal (a) is obtained by giving an F/V conversion to a car speed signal and then compared 101 with the output (b) of a memory 102 storing the voltage equivalent to the speed of car after turning on an analog switch 103 at a speed to be set. Then the signal is supplied to an inhibiting circuit 105 with compensation 104 of lead angle and then driven 106. Thus a control valve coil 108 within a negative pressure type actuator is controlled to hold a desired speed. When a retard switch 110 is turned on, the circuit 105 is actuated with the coil 108 inactivated to set the generating output of the actuator at zero. At the same time, a cutoff coil 109 within an overdrive controller 111 is made to conduct to release the overdrive. Thus the function of an engine brake is increased. As a result, the deceleration is assured at a high speed to avoid collision. |
