PURPOSE:To raise the definition and water resistance of printing by making up the heat-sensitive layer of a recording material from a water-insoluble resin ammonium salt or amine salt capable of becoming water-soluble salt upon reaction with ammonia or amine and a light-heat conversible substance as main components. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble ammonia or amine salt obtained by mixing a water-insoluble resin (e.g., unsaturated carboxylic acid-based copolymers, resol or novolak type phenolic resins, copolymers of monomers containing sulfonic acid group, etc.) with aqueous ammonia or an amine and a light-conversible substance (e.g., carbon black, graphite, etc.) capable of converting light into heat are added in a proportion of 1:1-50 by weight to a heat-sensitive layer. The heat-sensitive layer may contain an other water-insoluble resin. The mixture constituting the heat-sensitive layer is coated in a thickness of 1-15mum on a supporter (e.g., paper, plastic film, etc.) and then dried to obtain a heat-sensitive recording material. |
