PURPOSE:A catalyst for polyurethane that is composed of a linear tertiary amine and a cyclic tertiary amine, thus showing good resinification, foaming and crosslinking reactions, causing no bad odor and giving urethane foams of low density with a uniform cell structure. CONSTITUTION:The objective catalyst is a mixture of (A) preferably 60- 90pts.wt. of a linear tertiary amine containing 4 nitrogen atoms of formulaI (one of R1 or R2 is methyl and the other is formula II) such as N,N,N'N''N''' N'''-hexamethyltriethylenetetramine with (B) preferably 10-40pts.wt. of a cyclic tertiary amine containing 4 nitrogen atoms and a piperazine ring such as 1,4-bis (N,N-dimethylaminoethyl)piperazine. When polyurethane is to be made, the catalyst is added by 0.05-3pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the polyol. |
