A radioactive 57Co source consists of the intermetallic composition CoSb3 which emits an energetically non-disintegrated 14.4 KeV line. This composition is strictly stoichiometrical and may be dissolved in excess Sb. The atom percent proportion of 57Co may be up to 25%.
