<p>A tap assembly is disclosed for dispensing liquid from a pouch having a dispensing fitting attached to one wall of the same. The fitting has a passage therethrough and an exterior projecting annular portion. The fitting also has a sealing membrane serving to seal the passage, the tap comprising a body having one end portion adapted to be projected into the passage of the fitting to disrupt the membrane, and sealing means providing sealed relationship between the annular portion and the tap. The sealing means includes a member forming an annular socket carried by the end portion and dimensioned to embrace the exterior end of the annular portion of the fitting to establish a seal between the fitting and the tap body when the tap body is advanced into the fitting to disrupt the sealing membrane.</p> |
