摘要 PURPOSE:To enable to prevent drop of the volumetric efficiency of a compressor at the time of its low-speed operation and to reduce the refrigerating capacity effectively at the time of high-speed operation, by using four or more vanes, and forming suction ports and suction grooves such that the effective suction area is changed substantially in two stages during the suction stroke of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:In a 5-vane type compressor, suction ports 54A, 54B are formed in the vicinity of top parts 70A, 70B of a cylinder 50, respectively, such that the effective suction area is changed substantially in two stages during the suction stroke of the compressor, and bolts 59A, 59B for clamping the cylinder 50, a front plate (not shown) and a rear plate (not shown) together are disposed at positions displaced respectively from the suction ports 54A, 54B in the direction of rotation of a rotor 53. Further, suction grooves 56A, 56B are formed in the inner surface of the cylinder 50 over relatively long ranges constituting an angle theta1 of circumference. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to provide a compressor which is low in its power consumption, subjected to a low drop in the volumetric efficiency at the time of low-speed operation, and capable of reducing the refrigerating capacity effectively at the time of high-speed operation.
