PURPOSE:To enable a precise detection of cloud by arranging a light emitting element on a member of a body near the peripheral edge of a window glass and a light receiving element for receiving light reflected on the surface of the window glass as emitted therefrom on the member. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 2 of a cloud detector is provided on a member of a body near the peripheral edge of a window glass 1, for example, of an instrumentation board 4 or the like. Then, a light receiving element 3 is provided on the member of the body (the body or the member on the body) near the peripheral edge of window glass to receive light reflected on the inner surface of the window glass as emitted from said light emitting element 2. As the light emitting element and the light receiving element to detect cloud of the window glass 1 are mounted on the member of the body near the peripheral edge of the window glass, the cloud detector does not block the view of the driver thereby enabling an exact detection of the cloud. |
