PURPOSE:To provide a contact-free electric system horn operating portion to reduce substantially the rate of occurrence of failures by constituting the horn to blow when a light path from a luminescent element to a light receiving element is shut off with a douser portion of a horn button. CONSTITUTION:A horn button 34 of a horn device 31 is movably provided in a window portion 32 provided on an end of a pad 3 on the upper surface of a steering wheel 1, and a plate-like douser 35 is projectingly provided in the middle of the lower surface of this button 34. Also, support frame 37 provided with a gap 38 in which the bouser 35 moves forward and backward is mounted on the lower portion of the pad 3. A luminescent element 39 and a light receiving 40 are arranged opposed to each other to sandwich this gap 38 while a coil spring 41 is interposed between the support frame 37 and the wheel button 34. And in the neighborhood of a boss 12 of a steering wheel body 2 is provided a horn operating device 42 so that a horn blowing mechanism is activated when the horn button 34 is depressed and the douser 35 shuts off the light entering the light receiving element 40 from the luminescent element 39. |
