PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the flow rate of the fluid in two phases, i.e. a gaseous phase and a liquid phase, by measuring the pressures of the two phase fluid which is stirred and mixed at an input cylinder part and a throat part whose diameter is smaller than that of the cylinder part by venturi meters, respectively, measuring a void rate through radiation, and computing the flow rate. CONSTITUTION:The two phase fluid of steam, water, or the like are stirred and mixed through a grid. Pressure PB and PC of the two phase fluid are detected by the venturi meters arranged at the point B of the cylinder part having an area AB and the point C of the cylinder part having an area AC whose diameter is smaller than that of the area AB. Based on the pressures, enthalpies hgB and hlB of the steam and water and specific volumes VgB and VlB of the steam and water at the point B are determined. The same values at the point C are also determined. The average value of void rates alpha is determined by measuring the attenuation factor of the transmitted radiation at the point C. Then the mass of the steam at the point C is computed. A flow speed muC at the point C is determined from the difference between the pressures PB and PC, based on an energy expression of adiabatic conditions, a continuous expression of the fluid, and an equation of motion. Thus the mass flow rate and the volume flow rate of the two phase fluid are measured. |
