PURPOSE:To facilitate maneuver of a ship at low speed by installing a propelling paddle at the tail part of the ship in such a way as swinging freely in a horizoltal plane and thereby eliminating necessity for use of any rudder or steering machine. CONSTITUTION:A propelling paddle 1 is furnished at the tail part 3 of a ship in such a way as swinging freely in a horizontal plane. Accordingly the boat can be turned to any required direction only by swinging the paddle 1, so that any rudder or steering device usual in a conventional arrangement can be eliminated, and further a large effect of turning the bow is secured regardless of the speed of the ship because the revolving paddle 1 itself changes the direction of thrust force generated, different from a conventional arrangement in which the effect of rudder's turning the bow lessens when the speed of ship is low. Thus operation of the ship at a low speed will become easy. |
