PURPOSE:To produce an enough sealing effect even at the slow rotation of a rotary shaft, by providing grooves on one tapered side of the flange of the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:Some of oil flowing on a rotary shaft 11 toward its sealed part is caused to fly away by the vertical side 11d of a flange 11 and the remaining oil flowing on the tapered side 11c of the flange is caused to fly away inside a bearing stand 14 by the grooves 21 of the tapered side. The grooves 21 produce a fan effect to cause air to flow through the gap 22 between the tapered side 11c of the rotary shaft 11 and a casing 12 at its shaft hole 12e inside the bearing stand 14 as shown by an arrow P. Such a fan effect is produced even at the slow rotation of the shaft 11 so that oil is drained to a sealing part through the drain hole 12b of an expanded chamber 13a. |
