PURPOSE:To perform the safe unattended operation of an information processing system and reduce the labor to operate the system automatically, by turning on the power source of each device, which is connected to the information processing system through a communication line, automatically from a remote terminal. CONSTITUTION:When a dial-tone signal requesting the power-on is transmitted from the remote terminal through a public communication line, the power-on request is reported through a network controller NCU1 and a MODEM2 by a called signal CI line which is one MODEM signal line. Then, power is supplied to a power sequencer 4, an electric lamp 5, and an air conditioner 6 by a power- on permission signal of an automatic power supply controller 3. The success or the failure of power-on is transmitted through the NCU1 to the remote terminal which requests the power-on. |
