PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an auxiliary air control valve used for feedback control of a number of idle revolution, while keeping the stable idling condition of an engine, by interrupting the operation of said control valve when a first idling controller is actuated, namely when the engine is cold. CONSTITUTION:An air passage 8 opens on the lower course of a throttle valve 5 which is disposed inside a suction passage 3 of an engine 1, and is supplied with supplementary air from air cleaners 11 and 7 via both a first idling controller 10 which is actuated when the engine is cold and a supplementary air control valve 6 for making feedback control of the number of idle revolution. The first idling controller 10 consists of a detector 10d having an arm 10d' which is stretched according to a rise in the temperature of cooling water, a lever 10e which is turned by the arm 10d' and a valve 10a in contact with the lever 10e. In operation of the controller 10, an electronic controller 9 closes the control valve 6 on the basis of the detected value of a cooling water temperature sensor 13. |
