In an inward drying apparatus for printed stiff material (5) designed for a holding device (9), where the drying apparatus e.g. comprises an endless conveyor belt (6), to which a number of holding devices (9) are joined, as well as a device in order to produce the intended airflow in order to dry the print onto the material. Each holding device (9) is formed with a track (10) presenting an opening (10') in order to receive the edge (5a) of the material (5'). The opening (10') is assigned a dimension that somewhat exceeds the thickness of the material "f". The distance between the opening (10) and one located in the bottom surface of the track (11) for uniting with the edge of the material (5b') is designed to considerably exceed the thickness of the material. The material is fixed by a truss between the opening (16) and the surface (11) caused by the material's centre of gravity (TP) becoming located outside of the opening.
