Natural stones such as gravels were colored for the decoration stones having beautiful appearance. The processes for coloring were as follows; 1) the natural stones were ground for removing the rubbish and smoothing the surface of stones, 2) ground natural stones were heated to 150-180≦̸C under the pressure of 3-4 kg/cm3 in order to heat-expand the surface of stones, 3) the heated stones were dipped in pigment solution for coloring, and 4) the colored stone were coated with polishing agents such as chrome oxide and silkscreening for patterning them.
