摘要 PURPOSE:To enable to automatically centering-clamp by a method wherein an upper cup body is forwarded under low pressure and at low speed while rotating toward the lens placed on a lower cup body so as to clamp it between the cup bodies and, after being clamped, the upper cup body is further pressed under high pressure. CONSTITUTION:When the lens 11 is placed on the lower cup body 5, the lens 11 is stuck to the lower cup body 5 due to the negative pressure applied through a swivel joing 28. After that, the upper cup body 6 is lowered while rotating by means of a DC motor 18 and a cylinder 9. Now assuming that the lens 11 is placed eccentrically on the lower cup body 5, the edge of the upper cup body 6 abuts the lens 11 at the uppermost point P and the pressing force of the upper cup body 6 tends to shift the lens 11 in the direction of the center of the cup body and the tangential force A causes to turn the lens 11 around the point Q. However, the thick part S is prevented from passing through the edge and consequently the center of turning of the lens 11 is shifted upward and finally the turning motion of the lens 11 is performed around the point R. The tangential force A is continuously applied on the surface of the lens 11 due to the rotatingly lowering of the upper cup body 6, resulting in bringing the optical axis of the lens 11 in alignment with the center axis of the cup body. At this instant, the DC motor 18 is stopped and then the lens 11 is tightly clamped between the cup bodies 5 and 6 by supplying high pressure oil into the cylinder 9.
