A system (10) for continuously producing profile bars or strands from plastic is intended to be used, for example, for producing handrail profiles from polyurethane integral flexible foam. It has a moulding tool (12) formed from an openable and closable outer mould (13) and a core mould (14), which engages in this outer mould. The plastics component composition is introduced into the moulding cavity (15) of the molding tool to form the profile. Outer mould (13) and core mould (14) each consist of endless, elastic belts (13' and 14') which are each guided so as to be synchronously movable via deflection devices (16', 16'',16''' and 17', 17'').
