Method and device for feeding labels in bottle labelling machines

The invention is used in labelling machines and relates to a method in which the labels are passed to a labelling cylinder from which they are removed by the bottles to be labelled and to a device with a rotatable labelling cylinder driven by a set of gears and with a rotating bottle table which transports the bottles to be labelled. The object of the invention is to reduce the spaces between the bottles on the rotating bottle table. The invention provides for rotation of the labelling cylinder with a periodically fluctuating angular velocity, with the labels being passed to the labelling cylinder at maximum angular velocity and being removed by the bottles at minimum angular velocity. In the device, the set of gears driving the labelling cylinder has a varying velocity ratio, so that the labelling cylinder rotates with a periodically fluctuating angular velocity or the labelling cylinder is connected to a motor which rotates at a periodically fluctuating angular velocity.
