PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism by a structure wherein grasping claws are opened and closed by utilizing the engaging members of a pallet transfer device, which engage the movement of carriers with opening and closing members of the grasping claws in the pallet changer for machining various works. CONSTITUTION:In order to change pallets between a machine table 2 and a self-propelled pallet transfer device 21, firstly a pallet 5A is pushed up in order to be unclamped by the upward movement of a clamper 31 and secondly engaged with the respective grasping claws 27a, 27b and 31a, 31b, which are opened being pushed by the engaging hooks 26 of the pallets 5 respectively, with the forward movements of the first and second carriers 22 and 23 on a turning table 10. At this instant, the carriers 22 and 23 are retreated and then the swivelling table 10 is rotated 180 deg.. After that, the pallet is pushed out of the table 10 onto the table 2 by means of the forward movement of the carrier 22 and then the engaging hook 26 of the pallet 5 is released with no opening of the grasping claws 27a, 27b by the lowering of the clamper 3. On the other hand, the quitting lands 35a, 35b of the grasping claws 31a, 31b, which are pushed out by means of the forward movement of the carrier 23, about against the wedge-shape tip of the engaging member 36, resulting in opening the grasping claws 31a and 31b in order to release from the engaging hook 26. In such a manner as mentioned above, the mechanism can be simplified. |
